After All…

Be careful criticizing your director, questioning their motives and decisions.

After all, they did cast you.

90 or 10

You can aim your performance to 90% or 10% of the audience. Be careful aiming for much of anything in between.

90% is pretty much the most you can get of any audience for anything ever. You’ll never be able to please everyone.

But if you aren’t interested in the 90%, don’t you dare try and get a crowd of 20% to 80%. This is where the marginalized, the mediocre, and the pretty good tend to live.

Aim for the 10%. The beautiful thing about capturing the attention and imagination of the 10%: Appreciating your attention to detail and your unwillingness to compromise, they will bring you 100% of their coveted tribe of 10%.
