Make no mistake—followers matter. 

Don’t apologize, feel bad, feel embarrassed, or feel guilty for getting excited about a new subscriber. 

If we are writing to be read, if we are posting to raise awareness, if we are sharing to make an impact, then followers and the quality of those followers matter.

Start with why the show matters. This will clarify which moments need to matter most.

Do you count down or do you count up?

Do you keep track of how many shows you’ve done or do you keep track of how many you have left?

Instead of counting down, how about you just stop, quit now, and go find a gig that excites and inspires you to count up?

It’s been said that every story is either about an extraordinary person in an ordinary circumstance, or an ordinary person in an extraordinary circumstance. 

However, when it comes to theatre and live performance, our audience isn’t interested in making any such distinction. 

They made the time, they bought their ticket, and they made the trip, to see something extraordinary. 

Let’s not let them down.
