Put Your Good Work Out There

Carroll Spinney, performer of Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch, was discovered by Jim Henson after an ill-conceived, technically difficult performance at a puppet festival.

Jim said to Spinney, “I liked what you were trying to do.”

Don’t wait ’til it’s perfect. Don’t wait ’til it’s fully conceived and you’ve ironed out all the wrinkles and kinks.

Put your good work out there. You might be surprised who might see what you’ve made and say, “I liked what you were trying to do. I want to help you do it better.”
