An Open Letter to Theatre  Audiences Everywhere

Good actors aim to impress their audience.
Great actors want to move their audience—to make them feel something.
Audiences please, I beg of you: Respond to the great actors.
Raise your bar and respond only to that which moves you. Not simply to what impresses you.
Raise your standard from that which is impressed by the actor who has memorized all those lines. Stop being impressed by the actor who simply possesses a willingness to step on to a stage.
Please, raise your bar. Respond to and reward only that which moves you.
