Continuously Climbing Down

Accept the applause. Appreciate the congratulations. But don’t be drawn in by it.

One of the jobs of a leader is to continually get down off the pedestals your followers continually put you on.

It’s ok to stand there for a moment, to nod and accept the applause. But then we need to climb down and go back to work.
